Judge James Leary is the supervisory judge of the Nashua Division of the 9^th Circuit of New Hampshire. He completed his undergraduate degrees in English and Psychology at the University of Massachusetts in 1973. He earned a Master's Degree in Psychology from Rhode Island College in 1976 and a Juris Doctorate from the University of New Hampshire School of Law in 1984. He practiced law in the Nashua area for 20 years and was appointed to serve as a Circuit Court Judge in 2003. He presides over the Community Connections Mental Health Court and the Veteran's Behavioral Health Court and has been recognized with awards from legal, mental health and children's organizations. Judge Leary was appointed by the NH Supreme Court to the NHLAP Commission in 2018. He was elevated to the position of Chair by appointment of the NH Supreme Court in 2020.
